HEARING SOLUTIONS

The Balance and Hearing Centre is a diagnostic clinic. For private clients, a medical referral is required to perform comprehensive hearing tests. This allows Medicare to cover a large portion of the hearing test fee. Referrals are not required for clients on the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.

We are an independent clinic and our staff does not receive commissions for hearing aid sales. We are not aligned with any specific manufacturer, which allows our audiologists to advise the best-suited hearing device for our clients regardless of the brand.

ELIGIBLE CLIENTS

We will fit hearing aids for children five years and older, all adults, pensioners and veterans, Office of Hearing Services voucher holders, WorkSafe and TAC clients, employers and industrial screening clients.

The Balance and Hearing Centre is accredited to provide free hearing assessments and services and fully subsidised or free hearing aids for eligible pensioners and veterans through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program. In addition to our fully subsidised hearing aid range, clients can choose to ‘top up’ or pay a certain amount on top of the subsidy for hearing aids with a higher level of technology.

HEARING AID ASSESSMENTS, FITTING & REHAB

The hearing assessment appointment includes a comprehensive hearing test. Any referrals for medical investigation will be made if required. The experienced audiologist will provide a number of hearing solution options based on the degree of hearing loss, lifestyle or communication needs, the style of the hearing aids, the performance level of the technology in the hearing aids and the client’s budget. We offer the full range of hearing devices from basic technology levels to advanced levels of technology all at competitive prices.

We offer a 30-day Money Back Guarantee trial for clients trialling ‘top up’ hearing aids under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program. For private clients, there is also a 30-day Money Back Guarantee trial minus a nominal fee to cover the administration and audiology service during the trial period.

This nominal fee includes the hearing aids, the customization of the device to ensure it is a good fit on the ears, adjustment of the hearing aids to match your hearing loss and listening needs and the rehabilitation required to allow you to manage and adjust to the new sounds from the hearing aids.

Hearing aids may not restore hearing to normal but can significantly improve hearing ability in most situations, making the difference between a gradual slide towards isolation or leading a full and active life. It takes time, motivation and diligence to adjust to hearing aids. Our audiologist will guide you through the entire process so that you are fitted optimally and have the tools to manage and adapt successfully to the hearing devices.
